Working at the Intersections: LGBTQ Nonprofit Staff and the Racial Leadership Gap

View Resource

The report builds on data from Building Movement Project’s Nonprofits, Leadership, and Race Survey, conducted with more than 4,000 respondents across the nonprofit sector. This new report, the second in the Race to Lead series, analyzes the experiences of the 20% of survey respondents who identified as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer (LGBTQ). The report offers concrete recommendations for the nonprofit sector to address barriers that LGBTQ people of color face. Nonprofit organizations can shift toward greater acceptance and affirmation of the full diversity of nonprofit staff.
